Greener Pharmacy Guides and Toolkit

Greener Pharmacy Guides and Toolkit

The Greener Pharmacy Guides and Toolkit are here to help pharmacy staff reduce their carbon footprint, so we can all do our part to address the current climate emergency, as well as save money and improve services.

This was originally published when the organisation was the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

The Guides

The Guides outline three levels (bronze, silver, or gold) of actions to make your pharmacy more sustainable. Although primarily developed and commissioned for hospital and community pharmacy services in England, they can easily be adapted for use in other settings and countries.

How the Toolkit works

After you sign up to the Greener Pharmacy Toolkit, you’ll answer a series of questions based on your sector of practice. These questions will highlight areas in which your practice could be greener, and help you to improve its sustainability.

As you work your way through the Toolkit, it will provide guidance, suggestions, and challenges, which you can record to measure your progress towards building a truly sustainable pharmacy practice.

Once you complete the Toolkit, it will enable you to demonstrate your Green credentials to others.
