Legal and ethical enquiries
We regularly receive legal and ethical enquiries including:
Can a community pharmacist prescribe and dispense medication for the same person? What processes should be in place if this is being considered?
If a prescription states a patient’s first name or initials, does this meet the legal requirements of a prescription?
Can a pharmacist independent prescriber prescribe Sativex after it has been initiated by a specialist doctor?
