The creation of the Royal College of Pharmacy heralded a new era for the profession with bold ambitions to build an inclusive home, advance practice to enhance patient care and develop a louder, more influential voice.

With the College firmly established, our sharp focus is now on transformation and achieving those ambitions.

Your College Your home Our future marks the next phase with the publication of our transition strategy ‘Building the future of pharmacy‘. 

By 2028, we are aiming for the College to be more influential, visible and member focused. An organisation that is delivering increased value to our members, with a powerful voice shaping policy and system change with partners across the pharmacy landscape — and ultimately achieving greater impact.  

The strategy provides a two-year roadmap of how we will modernise and develop the College to create an inclusive, supportive professional home for our members and the wider profession, ensuring all voices — members, patients and partners — co-design and shape the College’s long-term future.

To achieve this, we have launched Your voice: Create RCPharm’s future together to begin to shape our long-term strategy. This is a conversation to develop our long-term strategy.

As part of this, we would like everyone to share their views and ideas for the future of the college on our new Your voice portal — be bold, be ambitious, be honest, this is about developing Your College, your home and your future.  

The launch of the Your voice portal is the beginning. It is part of a larger comprehensive engagement with roadshows, face-to-face discussions and other events planned in 2027 to shape the future of the College and pharmacy over the next decade — and ultimately to achieve the College’s vision of becoming the world leader in the safe and effective use of medicines. More details of these will follow in the coming months.
