Hear from experienced mentors about getting started, building effective mentoring relationships and managing challenging situations, with tips and insights you can apply to your own mentoring practice.

Part one – How to get started

The first in a series of mentoring focused webinars, where delegates will learn and hear tips on how to get off to a good start when it comes to mentoring. Delegates will hear from experienced mentors and be provided with supportive advice to help broaden their skills when it comes to entering a relationship, empowering them to become an effective mentor. Speakers will be able to share their tried and tested ways and answer questions from delegates.

  • Engage with members and empower them to become an effective mentor.
  • Hear about the experiences of mentors and tips.
  • Understand how actions can effect a relationship.
  • Gain advice from experienced mentors on how to mentor effectively.

Part two – Building an effective mentoring relationship

An event for delegates to learn and hear tips on how to build on their mentoring relationship effectively. Experienced mentors will provide delegates with supportive advice to help guide and empower them to infuse quality into their mentoring relationship.

Learning objectives:

  • Engage and empower members to build quality into their mentoring relationships.
  • Hear about the experiences of mentors in relation to their previous relationships and tips.
  • Understand how to set boundaries and manage expectations in a relationship.
  • Gain advice from experienced mentors on essentials do’s and don’ts in a relationship.

Experienced mentors will provide delegates with supportive advice to help guide in challenging situations in their mentoring relationship and techniques on how to overcome challenges. Speakers will be able to share their tried and tested ways and answer questions from delegates.

Speakers will reflect on how to agree next steps with your mentee for them to independently keep up the momentum they’ve built and how to empower our own self-directed development as a mentor.

A webinar for delegates to learn and hear tips on how to bring mentoring relationships to a close. Experienced mentors will provide delegates with supportive advice to help guide in recognising when a mentoring relationship has come to an end, isn’t working or where goals have been fulfilled.

Learning objectives:

  • To recognise when to close the mentoring relationship.
  • To understand how to agree next steps with your mentee to allow them to maintain momentum.
  • Explore ways to ask your Mentee for feedback on your role as a Mentor.
  • Understanding how to reflect and learn from your experience in the relationship and as a Mentor.
