In December, RPS will be hosting a three-day exhibition for MSPs at The Scottish Parliament, entitled, Delivering Environmental Sustainability in Pharmacy.

RPS has a long-standing interest in environmental sustainability in healthcare and a commitment to ensure that pharmacy teams and pharmacies can work in as environmentally sustainable a way as possible.

This year, RPS launched our greener pharmacy guides and toolkit. These resources have been produced to support all pharmacy teams working in community and hospital settings to take actions which reduce carbon emissions. During the exhibition, we will be showcasing our greener pharmacy toolkit to MSPs.

In addition, we will be raising awareness of the asks in the RPS Scotland Manifesto, and in particular our sustainability call for a more sustainable approach to medicines to be enabled. We will also be sharing our Manifesto for Health and Climate, which we have developed with RCGP, and which has been endorsed by many health professional bodies and Royal Colleges from across Scotland.
