
Paul Forsyth
Paul is Consultant Pharmacist in Cardiology, with his time split between NHS Golden Jubilee (80%) and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (20%).
After graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 2001, Paul originally worked in community pharmacy for four years. He then moved to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde to deliver pharmacist-led cardiology clinics in 2005 and worked there for 20 years. He has a post-graduate certificate in Primary Care Pharmacy from University of Derby (2006), Independent Prescribing Qualification from University of Strathclyde (2007), and a MSc in Primary Care from University of Glasgow (2015). He is about to start a PhD by Publication starting in 2026.
His main academic interests are heart failure, coronary heart disease, primary prevention of cardiovascular disease, population health, pharmacist workforce development, and pharmacist advanced practice. He has authored >60 peer-reviewed publications and two textbook chapters. He has also previously been part of successful research grants from public, charity, and pharmaceutical company funders.
