Post-registration foundation pharmacist e-Portfolio

If you are undertaking a post-registration foundation pharmacist training programme, you can use the RPS e-Portfolio to record evidence of your learning. 

The e-Portfolio is aligned to our post-registration foundation pharmacist curriculum and once you’ve completed your learning, it’s easy to submit your e-Portfolio for assessment.

Accessing your portfolio

You will need your GPhC registration number to be able to access your e-Portfolio. If you are a member of the RPS, please update this in your MyRPS area. If you are not a member of the RPS, you will need to register for access and ensure you include your GPhC number.

Getting started

Submitting your portfolio for assessment 

Learners undertaking supported funded modular / integrated or using the e-Portfolio for professional development purposes can access the post-registration foundation (PRF) e-Portfolio for free. Access to the RPS PRF e-Portfolio is free to both RPS members and non-members.

Learners will require their GPhC registration numbers to access. Details of programmes being undertaken need to be entered onto the My Programme details section of the e-Portfolio.

Those undertaking supported funded programmes with the credentialing assessment included as part of the programme can submit their e-portfolios for free. The candidates will be given a 100% discount code when they have expressed an intention to submit their portfolio for assessment at the specified programme submission window.

For candidates who are not part of a supported funded programme, the following credentialing assessment fees will apply when open submissions become available:

The fee for a full (five domains) portfolio submission for credentialing assessment is £375 for each attempt.

The fee for three domains portfolio submission for credentialing assessment is £225 for each attempt.

Payment will be taken via card. We accept all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express (AMEX).

Payment will only be taken once you have submitted your portfolio for assessment.

Is there a fee for resubmission, and how much is it?

Any reassessment will incur an assessment fee dependent on the number of domains being reassessed. 

  • Up to three domains: Discounted reassessment fee £225
  • Four or more domains: Full reassessment fee £375
Are there any recurring maintenance fees after I have been credentialed?

No. Once individuals are credentialed, there are no recurring maintenance fees. Maintenance of competence will be through GPhC revalidation.

Support requirements

What supervision and support structures should be in place to support my learning? Pharmacists working towards advanced pharmacist credentialing will need to access support from a range of sources to effectively demonstrate the curriculum outcomes. While the following supportive roles are not mandatory, they are strongly recommended to ensure individuals receive the appropriate level and type of support. Three broad types of support are recommended for pharmacists working towards core advanced pharmacist credentialing. Although these described support roles are distinct, it is possible, in some work settings/smaller organisations, that one person may take on two or even all of these roles. It is also possible that one role, in particular mentorship, may be provided by more than one person (e.g. domain-specific, or for a fixed project or period of time): Educational supervision –  We strongly recommend individuals have access to an educational supervisor over the course of their learning to guide their personal and professional development and support them to achieve the curriculum requirements.  Practice supervision – Robust practice supervision should form a core part of any pharmacist’s development, especially those working towards more autonomous delivery of care. Mentorship is a process through which a skilled or experienced person supports a less skilled or less experienced person. Mentorship – Pharmacists may want to access mentorship in one or more of the domains of the curriculum or more broadly across their practice. Pharmacists seeking mentorship may wish to use the RPS mentoring platform. Individuals undertaking these recommended support roles: May be based outside the pharmacist’s organisation and meetings may be carried out remotely. Do not need to be pharmacists and may be drawn from other professions or areas of expertise. Do not need to be members of the RCPharm. May deliver more than one role depending on their experience (e.g.one individual may act as an educational supervisor and a practice supervisor or mentor).  Should demonstrate cultural effectiveness and take active steps to promote equality and diversity, address any issues which may lead to differential attainment, and promote an inclusive culture and learning environment for all. Should provide high quality, supportive and constructive feedback which is essential for the professional development of the pharmacist, and when combined with self-reflection, promotes deeper learning. Share your feedback on our new enhanced curriculum

We are reviewing and updating our post-registration Foundation curriculum and credentialing pathway. From summer 2026, this will become the RCPharm Enhanced Curriculum and Credential, aligning with the introduction of prescribing for most newly qualified pharmacists in the UK. While prescribing is an exciting development for the profession, we know that pharmacists in their early years of practice will need structured support to develop in this expanded role. This includes building capability in leadership and management, education, and research and evaluation. This enhanced pathway will provide consistent, practical support across community, primary care and secondary care settings. Following earlier consultation on the draft curriculum outcomes, we have made further changes. We are now seeking feedback on the full draft curriculum and proposed credentialing approach. What are we trying to achieve? 1. A clear, practical curriculum We aim to create a curriculum and credentialing pathway that is relevant, accessible, and easy to understand. The enhanced curriculum will: Build confidence in pharmacist prescribers to define and develop their scope of practice Support development of leadership, education, and research and evaluation skills in early post-registration practice Provide a structured portfolio to record learning and demonstrate practice 2. A more flexible approach to credentialing We have heard that developing a portfolio across all domains at once can feel overwhelming for newly qualified pharmacists. In response, we are introducing a more flexible, modular approach from summer 2026. Pharmacists will be able to submit portfolios for: Enhanced clinical credential (Domains 1 & 2)  Enhanced non-clinical credential (Domains 3, 4 & 5)  Full enhanced credential (all domains)  This allows pharmacists to progress in a more manageable, step-by-step way. 3. A sustainable model for delivering credentialing assessments We know that assessment demand is increasing and that assessor capacity is limited in a system with growing pressures and demands. To ensure the model is sustainable and can support pharmacists at scale, we are proposing a single-assessor model, with quality assurance through moderation  This approach will help maintain quality while increasing capacity.
