This was published when the organisation was the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
More medicines are being reclassified from prescription-only medicines (POMs) to pharmacy (P) medicines.
Other medicines, such as oral lidocaine-containing products for teething in children, have been reclassified from general sale list medicines to P medicines.

The following medicines have also been considered by the government for reclassification:
- Dovonex Psoriasis Ointment – The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has agreed to reclassify Dovonex Psoriasis Ointment 50mg from a POM to a P medicine in the UK.
- Otrivine extra dual-relief nasal spray – MHRA has agreed to reclassify Otrivine extra dual-relief nasal spray from POM to a P medicine in the UK.
