Lucy Dixon

Lucy brings a breadth of unique cross‑sector experience spanning community, acute, primary care, and specialist palliative care pharmacy. She qualified as a pharmacist in 2003 and completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy in 2008. Lucy has been a practicing Independent Prescriber since 2009 and has undertaken advanced Quality Improvement training. 

In her current post as the NHS Highland Macmillan Specialist Palliative & Community Care Pharmacist, she provides specialist clinical pharmacy services to the Highland Hospice and across the wider Highland and Argyll & Bute regions. She is also Deputy to the NHS Highland Associate Director of Pharmacy (Community Services), contributing to senior-level policy, service development, and strategic delivery. 

Alongside her NHS role, Lucy has been an independent community pharmacy co‑contractor since 2006, supporting the provision of extended, accessible pharmacy services within remote and rural communities. At a national level, she contributes to Scottish Government workstreams focused on digital innovation, including leadership and development roles in delivering digital clinical support tools such as the Scottish Therapeutics Utility. 

With a passion for collaboration and system integration, Lucy is committed to bringing all sectors of pharmacy together to advance a truly holistic, connected, and patient‑centred approach to pharmaceutical care.
